Newberg High School’s Integrated Design Studio, IDS as it is known, is a three-period, multi-disciplinary class that focuses on the design process. It is housed in the school’s former wood shop, which features a large work area for construction and an area that looks more like a conference room than a classroom.”It’s just a different way of going about things and something that really highly engages kids,” NHS Principal Kyle Laier said. “I’ve had multiple parents of kids, and kids because I go down there and visit a lot, give the comment that, ‘This is why my kid comes to school.’ ”  Read the Newberg Graphic article here.
